Thorn warlocks work by killing a percentage of the enemy troops (incite) just before the units turn, hence they dont do any DIRECT damage to a unit. They have a small chance to hit ALL units, each unit is checked individually, but if they do the incite lasts for up to 3 rounds. a book does not increase the percentage damage done (unlike most other warlock units) however after level 100 the units can be upgraded with glyphs to do more percent damage and get a slightly better hit rate.
If a unit is incited it will have a small purple cloud? beneath it.
